Northern State University seeks a part-time Career Pathways Specialist to create and oversee digital career Pathways for NSU majors and other in-demand career fields. Collaborates with
the Director of Innovator Empowerment and other campus personnel to create digital badges that complement students’ career goals.

Provides career guidance to students and alumni regarding career planning processes, job-search skills, and others.

Conducts workshops, seminars, and other presentations. Meets with prospective students regarding potential major and career paths at NSU.

Identifies student needs for information about career planning and preparation. Develops programs, services, and publications to address those needs.

Maintains an active list of experimental learning and other employment opportunities available to NSU students, including information on how students can access and apply for positions, how opportunities will help advance students’ career aspirations, and how to showcase opportunity on their professional documents and portfolios.

Assists with the execution of career fairs, interview days, networking events, and other programs which support students’ career development

Minimum Qualifications
REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in education, communication studies, social sciences, or related field.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and comfortable using and learning new technology programs required. Ability to relate to students experiencing challenges in the college setting and provide a positive, encouraging environment for them to succeed.

PREFERRED: Knowledge of labor market trends and workforce development issues preferred. Ability to work collaboratively and independently. Project coordination skills, including communication, organization, facilitation, and assessment preferred.
