Dining Services Student Worker

General Purpose

To assist in any of the following areas: Cashier, Facilities Maintenance, Ware Washing, Barista at Java City, Food Production at each of the Saints Café stations

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Employee will provide excellent customer service to the campus community. Duties include, but not limited to: customer, service, including greeting customers; serving and storing food and beverages at various venues such as the Java City, made-to-order deli and salad bar, made-to-order omelet bar, grill and home zone; maintaining the retail sales floor in both Saints Café and Java City by following planogram directions; facing, stocking, organizing the work areas; working in the dish room; operating all kitchen equipment; organizing, sanitizing, and cleaning; proper cutting, slicing, chopping techniques; preparing recipes; proper handling, storage, and cooking of temperature sensitive food; cash handling duties such as counting money and reconciling the cash drawer.

Education and Training

All Education and Training will be done with Aramark on site.

Knowledge and Experience

Basic knowledge of barista techniques; Basic culinary skills; Cash Handling

Core Competencies

Expectation that the employee will combine knowledge and great work ethic to ensure that each location within our dining service gives each customer a great dining experience.

Working Conditions

Work with frequent interruptions. Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stopping, bending, kneeling, pushing and pulling. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

Please Note: Employee must be able to work hours required within Dining Services which includes weekends; Must be able to work 20 hours per week; Must work entire semester, through the end of finals week
