What you would do....


The Director of Special Education is responsible for the overall performance, quality of care, efficiency, and growth of the school program at our Aberdeen center. This is the primary clinical leadership role for this center. The Director will manage the Behavior Health Consultant team, any teachers, and all Behavior Technicians working with school participants. A true passion for teaching, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work on multiple projects and cases at the same time are essential in this role.


Job Responsibilities:


· Manages all aspects of the daily operations of the school


· Sets systems and processes of the school operations


· Sets educational programs based on evidence-based and effective curricula


· Speaks with potential families and conducts enrollment interviews


· Must have some knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis and be willing to collaborate with Senior Behavior Analyst on designing IEP goals that are functional and applicable for students


· Participates in individual child meetings, intake, IEP, transition planning, etc.


· Instills company culture and motivates staff to conduct their job duties according to the company’s core values


· Conducts performance feedback and reviews


· Accountable for enrollment targets and all other areas of performance indicators


· Ensures our high quality of educational services and high customer (parents and students) satisfaction


· Assist HR in Hiring instructional staff


· Establishes and maintains public relations with the school district, contract representatives, community, all referral sources, and parents.


· Attends PR/marketing events on a rotation schedule to represent the school and promotes the school image and services. It may involve weekends on occasions.


· Conducts monthly quality assurance check


· Ensures a high standard of facility appearance.


· Provides training and supports the professional growth of our instructional team


· Coordinates Parent training seminars for the community with the Behavior Consulting Team.


· Collaborates with other departments to achieve company vision and goals


· Collects data and provides reports for the company to track key indicators


· Achieve accreditation for the school


· Other duties as assigned to achieve company and department vision and goals.

Excellent computer skills. Programs such as Microsoft word, excel, outlook, Teams, etc.

Education, Licensure, and Experience Requirements:


Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred
Licensed as a Special Education Teacher in the State of South Dakota

· A minimum of three to five years of administrative or management experience in the education or behavioral health field


· Valid Driver’s License and auto insurance


· Authorized to work in the United States of America
