Agtegra Cooperative is looking for a Regional Manager in Western South Dakota. Areas of coverage include: Bowdle, Craven, Cresbard, Faulkton, Harrold, Ipswich, Java, Lebanon, Leola, McLaughlin, Pierre, Roscoe, Selby, Sun Terminal.


The Regional Manager manages, directs, facilitates, and coordinates the operational activities of location managers in each geographic region to obtain optimal safety standards, operational efficiencies, communication, and asset utilization for the company. The position will play a significant role in training, supporting, and developing location managers and key personnel for promotion and career enhancements. Plans, directs, and coordinates operational activities to ensure that policies, goals, or objectives are consistent with those established by the company officers and the Board of Directors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS*

1. Provide day-to-day operations leadership and management to meet the adopted mission and core values of the company.
2. Promote and lead a world class safety culture.
3. Assure the organization’s policies and goals relating to grain, agronomy, energy, and feed products and services are achieved.
4. Leads activities of specified locations such as operating, engineering, safety, environmental, planning, maintenance, to effect operational efficiency and regulatory compliance; includes recommendations of necessary purchases and replacement of equipment.
5. Reviews asset requests for the given area.
6. Assists location managers with planning, developing, and preparation of the locations annual operating and capital budgets and reviews region budget prior to submittal
7. Work closely with specified location personnel and participate in activities and operations to enhance a positive company culture and community activities.
8. Work closely with regional sales teams to achieve business goals of the region and organization.
9. Provide coaching to the region’s managers and employees.
10. Conduct performance appraisals and recommend wage and salary adjustments for personnel supervised.
11. Ensure all personnel under direct supervisors are thoroughly trained in accordance with requirements of their position.
12. Conduct on site reviews of each designated location and implement necessary changes.
13. Attend trainings, meetings, staff and employee meetings, and annual membership meetings.
14. Coordinate with grain, agronomy, and energy department heads on marketing strategies.
15. Help determine project proposals or plans to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of projects.
16. Coordinates project activities with activities of government regulatory or other governmental agencies.
17. Other duties as assigned.

Work has occasional exposure to adverse environmental conditions to include extreme heat and cold.
Work is generally in a moderately noisy setting (e.g., work office, work building).

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS*


Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university in agriculture or related field; or ten (10) years progressive management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
