Social Media Specialist

My Place Hotels of America is a rapidly growing hotel chain with 65+ locations distributed across nearly 30 states. My Place Hotels offers a unique opportunity to showcase your creative and marketing expertise to the millions of hospitality consumers worldwide. We are seeking a Social Media Manager to maintain and grow our social networks. The digital marketing specialist will develop and translate marketing objectives into a cohesive brand story.

Job Description:
The Social Media Manager for My Place Hotels will be responsible for leading a small team of social media specialists and developing and implementing a comprehensive social media strategy to increase brand awareness and drive engagement and bookings across all social media platforms for My Place Hotels.

Responsibilities:
Develop and execute a social media strategy that aligns with overall business goals and hotel-specific promotions
Lead and manage a team of social media specialists, providing guidance and direction to ensure that all activities are aligned with the overall social media strategy
Create and curate engaging and relevant content for all social media platforms that showcase My Place Hotels amenities, services, and local area attractions
Monitor and analyze social media metrics to measure success and make data-driven decisions for future campaigns
Stay up-to-date on the latest social media trends and best practices in the hotel industry, and incorporate them into the overall strategy
Collaborate with other departments to ensure that all social media efforts are integrated with overall marketing and communication efforts, such as hotel packages and promotions
Provide guidance and support to other teams on social media best practices and strategies
Develop and maintain a content calendar that aligns with business goals, and hotel promotions and incorporates relevant holidays, events, and promotions

Qualifications:
+ years of experience in social media management and team leadership, with a focus on the hotel industry
Strong understanding of all major social media platforms and their advertising capabilities
Proven track record of developing and executing successful social media campaigns in the hotel industry
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical skills and experience with social media metrics and analytics
Proven ability to lead and manage a team
Experience in a B2B or B2C environment is a plus

The ideal candidate will have a passion for social media, a creative mindset, and a data-driven approach. They will be able to work independently, think strategically, and lead a team to achieve measurable results in the hotel industry.

They will be able to represent My Place Hotels in a positive and professional manner and be able to communicate effectively with all hotel departments, My Place Hotel properties, and guests.

My Place Co-Founder and Chairman Ron Rivett co-founded Super 8 Motels Inc. in Aberdeen, South Dakota in 1974, along with long-time friend Dennis Brown. After selling the wildly successful Super 8 Motel system in 1993, Ron remained in the hotel business developing, building, and operating Super 8 Motels and other branded properties as a franchisee until 2011.       

 

On the heels of economic recession, it became apparent to Ron that the original Super 8 philosophy of a ‘clean, comfortable room for a few bucks less than the guy next door’ was more relevant than ever. This time however, it would be different.  In order to meet the needs of today’s individuals, families, workers, and business travelers, My Place Hotels would be well-suited to both short and long-term stays. Offering modern amenities at an affordable price is My Place Hotels of America's vision.

 

In February, 2012 the first My Place hotel opened for business in Dickinson, ND and began what would become a two-year proof of concept period, wherein the founders of My Place Hotels would develop, build, supply, open and operate 5 My Place hotels.  Locations include the energy development driven North Dakota markets of Dickinson, Minot, and Bismarck, the heavily traveled intersection of interstates 80 and 25 at Cheyenne, WY and the dual seasoned, demographically diverse vacation market of Bozeman, MT.  Fast forward to January 2014 My Place Hotels were rapidly growing  a concept into a reality.  Proving that the My Place concept works in various markets behind them, My Place Hotels of America was set to embark on the next phase as we began to welcome franchisee’s to join us on our journey!
