We have been providing solutions for our customers through competitively priced appliances, TV’s, grills, mattresses and furniture as well as in-house service technicians, delivery and installation since 1956.


Position Summary:


We are urgently seeking an experienced Store Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of our Aberdeen, South Dakota store location. We are looking for a candidate who is eager to help us hire, train and mentor a high caliber sales team. In addition, they will oversee all operational functions, sales growth, and financial outcomes while maintaining the high level of customer service that our Karl’s customers have come to expect.


The ideal candidate understands how to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment. We are looking for a positive, self-motivated individual who can anticipate change, and can lead others with compassion and confidence. This candidate will be responsible for staffing, training, budgeting, P&L management, contractor services, warehouse management, delivery management as well as managing customer care and our service repair department.


Essential Functions:


- Communicates clearly and concisely with customers, team, and leadership; keeps others informed and takes appropriate partnerships where necessary and possesses excellent verbal, written and comprehension skills.


Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast paced environment.


Ability to train, develop, motivate and lead others in a manner that promotes our Karl’s culture. Create a positive environment that fosters team member engagement and retention.


Organize daily activities of sales team, parts and service department, delivery team and contractor services.


Coordinate and lead regularly scheduled team meetings. Emphasize improving retail execution, product training, customer service training and sharing of best practices.


Must possess high energy and a high sense of urgency.


Ability to display financial acumen and react to trends and seasonal changes.


Directly manage budget and P&L results.


Develops merchandising display strategies which enhances the customer shopping experience.


Lead an operationally efficient store, enabling a sales and service culture.


Ability to develop and foster relationships with vendors, contractors and residential customers.

Work experience requirements:


- Able to use computers and applications such as Word and Excel


- Able to lift 75 lbs. on occasion for sales floor maintenance


- Able to use hand trucks and dollies efficiently


- Excellent customer service demeanor
